This blog is attempt to work out my struggles with philosophy in a ‘public’ forum that can allow for comments and conversation. At present, my main philosophical influences are Gilles Deleuze and Manuel DeLanda. I am also interested in Spinoza, Hume, Baudrillard, Derrida, Nietzsche, Foucault, Habermas, Laclau and Mouffe, Zizek, Badiou, Massumi, Edward Said, Marx, Guattari, and many others. The blog will also concentrate on complexity theory and its implications for social theory and ontology.
It would be good if you dated your entries. For instance, surely the Palin & Fox entry is weeks old. I would guess that the opinion that the Repubs were brilliant in this move is being reconsidered by now.
Hi Chris,
all posts are dated. look at the top right hand corner. In terms of the Republicans being brilliant, i was only stating that Republicans have, for the last 30/40 years, got a better grip about the medium of television. It is a point made from reading Marshall McLuhan, who understood that ‘the medium is the message.’ Try and think about how the medium is also ‘ideological’ and not only ideologies that are ideological.
